When casting closed face reel. push the release button with your thumb and keep it pushed. Bring the rod back and then forwards in a movement which starts at 2 o’clock and stops at 10 o’clock. As the rod passes 12 o’clock. release the thumb and the lure will start to move away. When you begin to retrieve. the spool engages automatic and the line winds onto the reel.
